Spiced Blood Orange Margarita
If ever there was a cocktail that epitomises the season, it’s surely this Spiced Blood Orange Margarita. Blood oranges are at their sweetest in winter. Warm Mediterranean days and cold nights turn these unique citrus a deep dark crimson. Blended with cinnamon spiced Olmeca Plata Tequila, hand made mango agave triple sec and fresh lime. Simply shake and serve over ice, garnished with a wedge of lime, for a Mexican twist on your Christmas celebrations.
Espresso Rumtini
Take your after dinner espresso to Fiesta and wake everyone up! Our Espresso Rumtini from Revolucion de Cuba switches the traditional Vodka for Rum, to put a Cuban twist on the classic. Havana Club Añejo Especial rum, all delicious creamy cinnamon spices and rich caramel adds warmth and depth to this cocktail which is finished with Kahlua, coffee and salted vanilla syrup.
To serve, pour into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake (like crazy) and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with three (health, happiness and prosperity) coffee beans.
Hix Negroni
If you are looking for the perfect cocktail to serve before dinner, try this Hix Negroni. The Negroni is a classic Italian aperitivo. It’s bitter and complex and very moreish!
You can of course you can make it yourselves – Mark insists on the classic recipe - three equal parts of three ingredients. But not all those ingredients were created equally. Campari is the Negroni standard but its the bold style of Plymouth Gin really stands out in this drink. And its the Antica Formula from Carpano, allegedly the original vermouth producer, which really distinguishes this cocktail. Antica also comes in litre bottles – that's a lot of vermouth to get through when just fancy the one and you’ve got a goose to worry about. For a winter classic that can be served at any time of the day (within reason!) the Bramble is the perfect versatile drink.
